Successful inaugural flight by WOW air – departures from EuroAirport to Reykjavik every Saturday

Following its first flight on Saturday, 16 June 2012, the low-cost Icelandic airline WOW air will now be flying from EuroAirport to Reykjavik/Keflavik, Iceland once a week. The first flight was fittingly celebrated by a baptism of water carried out by the airport fire service shortly after touchdown at EuroAirport.

WOW air will be flying from EuroAirport to Europe’s most northerly capital every Saturday with an Airbus 320. The aircraft has 168 seats with a lot of legroom. The flight takes around 3.5 hours.

EuroAirport’s management is delighted with the extended service to Iceland. WOW air is Iceland’s youngest low-cost airline and offers flights to Reykjavik at attractive prices for both holidaymakers and business travellers. For instance, a single flight costs from 99 euro including taxes and charges, and a 20 kg luggage allowance. Lovers of Iceland now have a choice of flights from EuroAirport with WOW air or Iceland Express.

WOW air was founded in Iceland in 2011, and since June 2012 has been offering direct flights between Reykjavik and for example,  EuroAirport, Cologne, Stuttgart, London, Paris and Copenhagen.
