ALTA Member Airlines Passenger Traffic Increases 5.7% in January
The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 13.2 million passengers in January, up 5.7% from the previous year.
Traffic (RPK) grew 6.6% and capacity (ASK) increased 8.1%, bringing down the load factor to 77.9%, 1.1 percentage points lower than in January 2011.
Freight ton kilometers increased 14.3% in January, reaching 350,439 FTKs.
