Doric Asset Finance Places Two Airbus A319s

Doric Asset Finance is pleased to announce the placement of two A319 aircraft with the Tunisian airline Syphax Airlines for a period of approximately five years.

The lease agreements were signed on 17th January 2012 by Mohamed Frikha, CEO of Syphax Airlines and Maurick Groeneveld, Director of Aircraft Management at Doric, acting for and on behalf of the owners in the presence of the Tunisian Minister of Transport. Doric acted as a Remarketing Agent for two German Funds from the Hamburg-based investment house Woelbern Invest.

“The remarketing process went very smoothly and we were able to secure a Letter of Intent with Syphax Airlines within five weeks of being awarded the Remarketing Mandate. We were in advanced discussions and Letter of Intent negotiations with several candidate airlines around the world, but the owners preferred and selected Syphax Airlines”, commented Maurick Groeneveld.

Syphax Airlines is scheduled to launch its operations in March 2012 and plans to use Sfax Airport in Tunisia as its base for scheduled flights to selected destinations in France.

As part of the delivery preparation, C-checks and repainting works are being performed on both aircraft by CSA Technics (Prague, Czech Republic) and Latecoere Aero Services (Montpellier, France), respectively.

The deliveries of the A319s are scheduled to be completed by mid-March 2012.

In 2011 Doric Asset Finance repositioned two A319s with the Berlin-based operator Germania. Doric Asset Finance’s current portfolio of assets under management is valued at USD 5.4 billion and comprises 27 aircraft.
