Flyme and Sabena technics sign an ATR 42-500 support agreement

Sabena technics, a leading independent MRO player, specialized in civil and military aircraft maintenance has signed a 3-year contract with the Maldives start-up passenger operator Flyme to perform full component support services on its ATR 42-500 fleet.

Sabena technics has started supporting Flyme through its Integrated services business unit, dedicated to full support contracts. Services to be provided for the operator are for an initial 3-year period. They will include component repair and overhaul, pool access and logistic support.

Flyme, which operates a fleet of two ATR 42-500, plans by the end of 2012 to add an extra two aircraft to its fleet.

« I am enthusiastic about Flyme’s choice to have partnered with Sabena technics to accompany them in the launch and management of their ATR 42-500 operations, I sincerely hope that our partnership will grow and that our expertise will bring them success », said Christophe Bernardini, Chief Executive Officer of Sabena technics.

Flyme started operations in October 2011 and has since grown into a successful niche charter market player for visitors in the highly popular Maldives. « The support from Sabena technics is a great asset for Flyme in delivering a reliable service, especially at this early stage of the airline’s operations, » explained Riluwan Shareef, Flyme’s Managing Director.
