September 2011 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for September 2011 was 744,504, up 8.5% compared to September 2010. September 2011 enplanements totaled 374,399, up 9%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 263,835, up 12% compared to September 2010; American Airlines passengers totaled 160,214, up 9%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 86,423, up 6%; Continental Airlines (including SkyWest and ExpressJet) passengers totaled 75,577, up 3%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, ExpressJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 48,949, up 24%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 47,765, up 12%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 29,470, up 7.5%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 22,174, up 30%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 9,340, down 53%.

September 2011 air cargo totaled 12,869,217 lbs., up 1.5% compared to September 2010. International air cargo totaled 947,622, up 21%. Federal Express carried 8.1 million lbs., down 2.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.9 million lbs., up 34%.

Air Services transferred 261,164 lbs of mail, down 31%; and 850,539 lbs. of belly freight, down 22.5%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,566 down 7.5%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 14,454, down 2.5%.

January – September 2011 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – September YTD was 6,778,170 up 6% compared to January – September 2010. January – September 2011 enplanements totaled 3,392,960, up 6%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 2,481,392 up 7%; American Airlines passengers totaled 1,393,318, up 3.5%; Delta Air Lines passengers 779,303, up 13%; Continental Airlines (including SkyWest and ExpressJet) passengers totaled 672,297, up 0.2%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, ExpressJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 445,667, up 22.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 405,098, up 5%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 282,775, up 6%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 184,997, up 17%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 126,406, down 24%.

September YTD (January – September 2011) air cargo totaled 113,390,613 lbs., down 1% compared to January-September 2010. International air cargo totaled 7,580,556 lbs., up 22%. Federal Express carried 75 million lbs., down 2.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 21.3 million lbs, up 16.5%.

Air Services transferred 3,248,055 lbs of mail, down 19.5%; and 8.4 million lbs. of belly freight, down 13%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 43,744 for January – September YTD, up 1.5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 134,150, up 2.5%.
