Approximately 31 million passengers flying airberlin

airberlin, Germany’s second-largest airline company, transported a total of 31,021,323 passengers in the first ten months of 2011, i.e. 3.1 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year (2010: 30,094,769 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization for the first ten months of the year improved by 2.1 percentage points to 78.7 percent (2010: 76.6 percent). Accumulated capacity increased slightly, i.e. by 0.3 percent.

In October 2011, the number of passengers welcomed on board decreased by 4.1 percent to 3,345,832 (October 2010: 3,490,259 passengers), due to a targeted capacity reduction of 3.4 percent. Fleet capacity utilization for October declined by 0.6 percentage points to 79.7 percent, thereby almost reaching the level of the previous year (10/2010: 80.3 percent
