FS2004/FSX Horten Ho IV. The Horten Ho IV was the fourth design conceived by the Horten brothers. The first Ho IV flew in May 1941 at the Konigsberg Luftwaffe base. Of the four airframes completed two survived the war and were flown by RAF personnel in Germany and England until 1950. In 1951 airframe #25 was shipped to the USA. The following year Rudolf Opitz won two major soaring contests with it, and placed seventh in the Nationals, after losing points through a navigational error. That aircraft is on display at the Planes of Fame Museum. Airframe #26 remained in Germany and is now fully restored and on display at the Flugwerft Schleissheim Museum, Munich. These models depict the two surviving airframes.
