FS2004 SAAF Kittyhawk Mk.III GL-O, 5 Sqn, Italy 1945 WWII. The Curtiss Kittyhawk was used extensively in WWII during the desert campaign in North Africa by the Commonwealth air forces. Among these Commonwealth air forces was the South African Air Force or SAAF. This Kittyhawk Mk.III serial FR817 “GL-O” or better known as ‘Lady Godiva’ is painted in dark camo with a stork carrying a bomb insignia on the engine inlet. This particular Kittyhawk was used by No. 5 Squadron SAAF in Italy during 1945 as a “Kittybomber” for ground attaack operations. Textures only. Model by K. Malinowski and J. McDaniel.
