Farewell! KLM Boeing 747-400 + Very Last Flight Arriving and Departing | Toronto Pearson Int’lHello everyone! Welcome to this video!

Well, sadly this day has come. Sooner than we all expected but it was going to happen. As a result of the Coronavirus or COVID-19, many airlines announced that they planned to retire some of the older aircraft in their fleet to reduce costs of maintenance and operation. That unfortunate news became hinted at us a few weeks ago when some insiders at the Dutch Airline of KLM came forward with news that the Boeing 747-400’s would be retired early at the end of March 2020 instead of mid-2021 which was planned.

So many of us did set out to catch the final few flights of the Boeing 747-400; myself included. Its been an iconic aircraft to many; including me; my father used to take me out to the airport as a kid to always try and catch the KLM Boeing 747. If we caught it we went home happy, if we didn’t the day just wasn’t the same. So for the last flight I took my old man out one final time to enjoy the moment.

KLM31 arrived on RWY 05 from Amsterdam at 1602hrs and parked at Terminal 3 for the offload and on-load. She pushed out, taxied and departed on RWY 15L at 1921 as KLM86 back to Amsterdam with farwells from Apron (5:02) Tower (6:15) and Departure (7:00) and (7:20) where they did a 3,600ft downtown tour over the CN Tower for a farewell of Toronto.

And with that I say farewell to one of the most iconic aircraft in my personal opinion that has graced the skies; Farewell to the KLM Boeing 747-400, you will be missed by all here in Toronto.

Cheers,
Ernest G.
