UK AI
An AI update for MSFS2002 ONLY
The following instructions must be followed TO THE LATTER,
otherwise the package will not work & you may lose all AI aircraft.
This package will make the FS2002 AI fly all scheduled BA
routes to/from the UK airports included & many other airline flights. It
does not include BA franchise flights: comair, deusche BA etc…
Major airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick & Manchester
become lifelike.
VERSION 1.0
This the first release of UK AI it includes Heathrow (EGLL), Gatwick (EGKK), Manchester (EGCC) & Birmingham (EGBB).
There are 2 aircraft & a 737 aircraft.cfg included in the package, you must download all other aircraft/repaints & install them yourself according to the specific instructions for them to work as AI (list is provided below).
I cannot stress enough the importance of correct aircraft installation according to the instructions provided. Please work though the installation logically otherwise it becomes impossible.

Installation:
Text in bold indicates an aircraft title.
Text in italic indicates a folder/path.
Bold & italic indicates an aircraft.cfg.
Installation is assuming a clean install of FS2002. Any differences to what is described here will need to be amended by you.
Included is a complete AIRLINES.cfg – this should be placed in your AIRCRAFT folder, replacing the default one.
Aircraft:
The following is the most important section of the
installation. All aircraft MUST have the TITLES stated here, otherwise AI will
not recognise them & you will be left with nothing.
There will be one example of how to install an aircraft, and
then you must install the rest yourself and give the appropriate title in the aircraft.cfg
(a good tool is FSEDIT).
Installing the 737’s (the most complicated set of aircraft
to install):
1.
In your FS2002/AIRCRAFT/B737_400 folder, create 12
new folders called ‘texture.3’ thru ‘texture.14’
2.
Copy all files in Texture.1 into each of the new
folders
3.
Extract the contents of all the 737 re-paints only
(the bmi aircraft is a separate aircraft) .zip files to a temporary folder.
4.
Cut & paste textures to new folder ‘texture.X,’
overwriting any files involved.
5.
Continue this for each 737 re-paint placing the textures in
the ‘texture.X’ folder as specified in the 737 aircraft.cfg
provided.
6.
Extract & rename the 737 aircraft.cfg
provided to the B737_400 folder.
7.
You will note that the most important part of this setup is
that the aircraft have the proper TITLE. If you are an advanced user,
you may wish to have the textures in differently named folders, please make
changes as appropriate!!
8.
AI will now recognise these aircraft and there will be these
737’s flying ASWELL AS the 3 default 737’s, however these will only be flying
to/from the AI airports in this package.
General Installation tips:
1.
Use temporary folders for moving textures.
2.
Do one texture/aircraft at a time.
3.
When adding aircraft to the end of an aircraft.cfg
the best way is to copy & paste the previous aircraft lines & make
changes as appropriate, rather that make possible errors.
IF THE AIRCRAFT IS NOT TITLED AS STATED AI WILL NOT RECOGNISE
IT!!!
In the case of Default aircraft, setup/installation will be
similar to the example.
Other aircraft should be setup as per a usual aircraft.
Installation of the CSL based aircraft is dealt with later,
so don’t attempt it yet!
Don’t forget to add the correct callsigns to aircraft!!
DO NOT simply swap for the default textures!! You need to
setup these new aircraft.

I recommend that if you have swapped BA textures for any of the default aircraft that you replace them with other textures, as all BA flights have been programmed in, so it would be unrealistic for BA aircraft to appear elseware.
It is a good idea to check all these aircraft in the FS2002 aircraft menu, to check you have set the textures & callsigns up correctly.
Installing the Boeing 757/767 & Bae146 AI models:
Create a new 2 new folders called AI767 & AI146 in the FS2002/AIRCRAFT folder. Extract from the Aicraft.zip file ‘767.air’, ‘146.air’ & ‘767_aircraft.cfg’ & ‘146_aircraft.cfg’ into these folders respectively & rename to simply ‘aircraft.cfg’.
Then copy & paste the folders ‘model.B767’, ‘model.BA46’ from the FS2002/AIRCRAFT/CSL folder into their respective folders.
Copy & paste the folders ‘texture.BAW’ ‘sound.jet’ & ‘panel’ from the FS2002/AIRCRAFT/CSL folder into both folders.
This provides a BA 757/767 & BA BAe146 AI model, as there are no other models available that work as AI. They have airfiles that provide FS2002 night lighting & will be recognised by ATC. Do not attempt to fly these aircraft, they a purely for AI.
Installing the AI traffic scenery:
In your FS2002/SCENEDB/ATC/SCENERY folder backup the
file ‘traffic.bgl’.
If you don’t not back up this file, and have problems with
this AI, you will have to re-install FS2002!
Extract the file ‘traffic.bgl’ to your FS2002/SCEBEDB/ATC/SCENERY folder.
Information:
The AI project has been tested in FS2002 Pro ONLY we cannot guarantee that it will work in FS2002 standard.
We have not re-programmed the ATC, only the flights, so please no questions to us about it.
Updates to include more airports will follow; these may either be in the form of traffic tools files or complete new versions.
The minimum ATC setting for most of the aircraft to appear is 60%. We recommend you switch off VFR traffic.
This version has been tested at 75% on a variety of machines from a Pentium 3 700MHz to an AMD Athlon xp 2000+ (all with GF2/minimum of 256MB RAM & UK2000 scenery) & frame rates are generally only slightly affected: +/- 5 fps. If you are suffering from low frame rates, turn down some settings, autogen & scenery density especially around London have a huge effect.
