Created by HoHun (with a little help from my friends - thanks everyone!).
You can include the Histopack (or parts) of it in your own aircraft and redistribute it freely (see License).
This is version 1.0 of the Histopack.
To use the Cockpit Histopack is simple. All instruments provided in thie pack fit within the "footprint" of the original instruments, and despite their historic look, they have identical functionality to the default instruments.
... simply drop the "cockpit" folder of this package into the aircraft folder - installation complete!
... well, you're probably knowing what you're doing anyhow. Simply copy the instruments one-by-one, preferrably starting with the Histopack in place because it very likely contains a much larger of instruments so you'll keep the workload down by just copying your personal creations.
Here is a list of the instrument modifications and replacements that are part of the Histopack:
This one really got my project going! I have used it for what must be a hundred switches in this pack, and does a great job of giving historic cockpits an authentic look! :-)
Though in the end, I didn't use it because the rough look of the hex-nut switch seemed to be more fitting for the Warbirds that are my favourites, the switch bitmaps donated by Pbfloyd are included in this package in case the refined appearance is what you're looking for ... you'd have to do some bitmap cutting and pasting yourself, however.
I wasn't actually planning on including this horizon in the package to keep my workload down, but Guy provided it and thus closed a potential gap!
A big thanks to all the contributors listed here! Without your help, I'd probably not even have started this project, and certainly not have achieved the same quality I could with your help :-)
... to further advance the state of the art in X-Plane aircraft building by providing more (or better) historical instruments for the Histopack.
If you have made a certain historical instrument that looks like a likely candidate for the Histopack, contact HoHun and donate your instrument for inclusion in the package! (Only if you agree with having your work distributed according to the Histopack license below, of course.)
Please don't hesitate to submit instruments that are already included in this pack if your version is different - for example, the radio equipment in the current Histopack is pretty generic, and a more authentic version that still complies with the restrictions of the X-Plane user interface would be really a great addition!/
You have my permission to use this package or parts of it in any way you'd like, and to re-distribute modified packages as long as you mention the original source as "Includes Cockpit Histopack by HoHun" (or "Includes parts of ..." if appropriate) somewhere in the documentation.
If you'd like to encourage use of the Cockpit Histopack by other aircraft builders, you could of course advertise it in a prominent place, but that's optional.
