This excel 2003 workbook started out as a simple spreadsheet to quickly make AI traffic using Peter Van Der Veen's Traffic Compiler.
As I ran into problems and errors I would make / add changes to the workbook. It has been a growing project, and has become
a useful tool not only for creating AI traffic, but as a source for aircraft and airport data. I have filled in missing information on airports,
added the data from the airport dump list and created an aircraft type list for the needed info in the aircraft.txt file.
The Make Flightplans page sheet can be used simply as an information tool such as, distance between airports,
airport name and location, flight times, or to create your own aircraft traffic bgl files.
The whole concept of this workbook was to be able to quickly create airport traffic. After entering defaults, the only data needed
is the aircraft number and a list of the airports the aircraft will fly to.
I have included the original (only minor changes) FSX traffic bgl file with the de-compiled text files.
What I have done to mine is to replace the original aircraft in the aircraft text file with similar AI aircraft I have downloaded.
I then compiled it to a bgl file and used it instead of the original file. ( Located in \scenery\world\scenery folder)
I then use my excel AI flightplan maker to add aircraft traffic to the airports I fly to most often and /or airports
with a very small amount of traffic.
I've also included a Batch program to extract YOUR Aircraft Speed, Titles and vertical default rates.
This then can be used to update the aircraft sheet in the workbook. The aircraft sheet has MY aircraft
titles. You'll need to update that data with YOUR titles.
I have not verified this workbook on any other versions of excel. I would appreciate any comments and
suggestions for improving or making corrections to this project. This project has been almost as much
fun as flying my simulator aircraft..........well.......almost.
Be sure and read all of the comments on the workbook pages. They will explain the process in more detail.
Thanks, and have a good flight !
