Bonneville
Land of Speed by Jason L. Terry

Thanks for downloading my scenery!
Bonneville is a side-project of mine, an upgrade to the default scenery of fsx. No airports have been changed, this is simply a landclass update since Microsoft goofed it up and made it dirt. In reality, Bonneville is a giant salt flat that is a remnant of a lake that once stood there millions of years ago. Now days it is very dry, very flat, and very WHITE. Microsoft missed the memo on the white part. This is where land speed records are made, where automotive magazines love to go to show off new cars, and several commercials are made and movies shot here whenever Hollywood wants to portray an "alien landscape". Overall a very interesting place.

To get to Bonneville, simply load up FSX and select KENV as the airport identifier for Wendover Utah - head east - can't miss. Bonneville stretches all the way over to the Great Salt Lake, near Salt Lake City, and south down to Dugway Proving Ground (KDPG).

If you enjoy this scenery, check out our Railroad Valley 2013 package at www.aeroworks-technologies.com

Coming soon should be upgrades for White Sands, NM and also the Very Large Array near Socorro, NM.

INSTALLATION
  1. Move the JLT - UT Bonneville folder to your addon scenery folder of FSX. Or simply drag and drop it to the addon scenery folder direct from the zipfile.

  2. Load up FSX and go to World menu, and select Scenery Library, near the bottom.

  3. When the dialog box opens, select add scenery from the side buttons, and navigate to the JLT - UT Bonneville folder. When you close out, a couple of progress bars should run their course.

  4. From the game, go to World menu, and Select Airport and By Aiport ID type in "KENV" or "DPG"

A quick word about James Udall's Utah scenery...
If you do not have James Udall's "Utah Complete" scenery, and like to fly in this area, I highly recommend it. It should be available on most of the big flightsim sites. My version of Bonneville was initially intended to be "stand-alone". But I have noticed that it does make a nice augmentation to his Utah scenery pack. It is not intended to be a replacement or an update of his scenery. He did improve Bonneville in his Utah scenery, but it is a coral texture, and just isn't white enough (although it's a vast improvement over what MS did originally).

If you use my Bonneville upgrade in conjunction with his Utah Complete package, be sure that the Bonneville add-on is higher in the list than Utah Complete, otherwise the "white" Bonneville I have created will show up beneath the "coral" Bonneville that is in James' Utah Complete.

Otherwise Bonneville should work fine and not interfere too much with anything else.
