Slingload Tutorial
Helicopters are very versatile aircraft. Lifting payloads and placing them exactly where needed is a specialty of workhorse helicopters like the Sikorsky S-92.
Learn to pick up and place objects while flying the S-92.

Tips
While you cannot attach to and lift all objects in the Flight Simulator world with the helicopter, specific objects in the helicopter Missions are designed for that purpose.

When flying with a load attached to a cable, the load is likely to swing back and forth (oscillation). This should not result in damage but can make it difficult to place the object with precision.
Keep your airspeed low to avoid the load becoming unstable, triggering a dangerous oscillation. If the object begins to oscillate, the cable could snap or make the helicopter very difficult to control.
Pressing O affects the sling and the hoist cable both if they are in use at the same time.
The Sling
The slingload cable is attached to the belly of the S-92. This cable is rated for 10,000 lb (4,536 kg) loads and is not retractable.
The Hoist
The hoist cable is attached to an arm located above the large cargo door on the right side of the S-92. The hoist is rated for 600 lb (272 KG).
To use the hoist, first extend the hoist arm. Once the hoist is fully extended, lower the cable to the desired length and attach to an object.
If desired, raise the attached object to the cargo door. When the object stops at the top, pressing O again pulls the object into the helicopter. Pressing O again removes the object from the helicopter, and placing it back onto the hoist cable.
