Engine Start
Use Ctrl-E (autostart) to start the aircraft.
Takeoff
- Make sure fuel is set to fullest tank (main fuselage
tank).
- Set flaps to the up position.
- Set all trim controls neutral.

Maintain 0.9 Mach throughout the climb.
Climb (Military Power - 97% RPM)
- Accelerate to 500 KIAS at sea level (0.75 Mach).

Descent
A normal descent is conducted at 0.8 Mach and idle thrust. Higher
speeds and power settings may be used. Spoilers may be used if a more
rapid descent is desired.
Landing (40,000 lbs.)
- Approach the field at about 250 KIAS with plenty of room to slow down.
- Use airbrakes as required.
- Extend landing gear on downwind at about 225 KIAS.
- Extend tailhook for carrier landing.
- Extend slats on base leg (position 1).
- Extend flaps on final (position 2) when runway is made.
- Approach speed is 156 KIAS.
- Make touchdown at about
140 KIAS.
