Sunderland Wearmouth Bridge, Roker Pier Lighthouse, Penshaw Monument & Stadium Of Light for Flight Simulator.

There are 2 types of bridge, one for VFR UK Scenery users and one for default scenery users as the River Wear is in a slightly different place using VFR.

The Lighthouse is designed for VFR. It can be used in default although you won't see the piers.

Penshaw Monument can be used with either VFR or default. The terrain mesh I used was fm_england ( fm_england.zip at Avsim ) which does a good of creating Penshaw Hill.

The Stadium Of Light is designed for default scenery. You can use it on the VFR but it doesn't totally cover the VFR photo of the stadium.

The first Wearmouth Bridge was the longest single span cast iron bridge in the world and was one of the wonders of the industrial age. The bridge was completed and opened to traffic on 9th August 1796, presided over by Prince William of Gloucester and attended by 80,000 people.

The bridge survived until 1857, when consultant engineer Robert Stephenson did a major reconstruction. That bridge survived until 1927, when the present one was built around the old one and reopened in 1929.

Penshaw Monument is situated on Penshaw Hill, overlooking the River Wear. Its high position means it is a familiar landmark for people over a wide area of north-east England.

The monument itself was erected in 1844, designed by John and Benjamin Green and modelled on the Theseum at Athens. It is dedicated to John George Lambton, first Earl of Durham and the first Governor of Canada.

Penshaw Hill, on which the monument is built, is associated with the local legend and song about the Lambton Worm.

Opened in 1997, the 48,000-seat Stadium Of Light dominates the Wearside skyline and is the football clubs 7th home.

The move saw the Black Cats travel a mere few hundred yards from their former ground Roker Park.
