Mt. Lassen Scenic Tour
For this flight you will take a tour of some of the most beautiful scenery-Mt. Lassen National Park in Northern California along with some real world flight tips on flying the Beechcraft Baron. We will take off from Chester, Rogers Airport runway 16, fly over the Lake Almanor Peninsula, then head directly to the base of Mt. Lassen, over to the Cinder Cone, and then back over Lake Almanor for a landing on runway 34.
Density altitude will be a factor for this flight (at this altitude the air is thinner and the engine puts out far less power). You will also learn some real world Baron flying techniques such as differential thrust for taxiing, engine out procedures, different climb speeds, power settings, and even a few surprises.
Below are some pictures from a real world perspective so you may visualize a little better in the sim what you will see. (Numbers on the sectional above correspond to the pictures below).
Also-check my video of landing there on YouTube -do a search of "geofa" or "Lake Almanor Landing"
