During WW2, brave pilots ferried war planes across the Atlantic Ocean from the United States to Europe. This route took these flights over Greenland. In bad weather, many were lost. In 1992, an expetition recovered a Lockheed P-38 burried deep in the ice. This mission is a fictional account of flights in support of an expedition.
You are a pilot in the expedition. You are transporting expedition members and supplies in a DC-3 to the base camp. With bad weather moving into the area, you will fly a Maule Ski Plane from Base Camp to evacuate team members on the glacier.
This mission will require a landing of a loaded DC-3 on a short field in Greenland, transfer to a Maule Ski Plane, and land on an icy slope of the glacier to pick up team members.
Communications with Base Camp, and other expedition aircraft will be automatic. These communications will give you information needed to complete the mission. Waypoints and a mission compass will help in naviagtion.
