ENGINE GROUND OPERATIONS
Parking brake RELEASED! Operate engine with
propeller lever at FULL FINE. Maintain engine speed between 1200-1500 RPM for
best cooling. Avoid prolonged idling to prevent spark plugs fouling. Do not
operate engine above 2200 RPM.
WARM UP
1.
Radios and radio compass switches ON

Fuel quantity gage CHECK FUEL QUANTITY
3.
Check engine idle RPM MIN 800 RPM
BEFORE TAXIING
1. Taxi
clearance RECEIVE
2. Altimeter
and clock SET
3. Parking
brake RELEASE
TAXIING
- Maintain engine speed between 1200-1500
RPM for best cooling.
- Throttle ADVANCE ( max. 2200 RPM ) and
CHECK BRAKES.
ENGINE RUNUP
- Brakes HOLD
- Parking brake SET
- Throttle 2200 RPM
- Mangneto check PERFORM
- Ingnition switch M1, DROP max. 150
RPM CHECK
- Ingnition switch M1+M2, 2200 RPM
CHECK
- Ingnition switch M2, DROP max. 150
RPM CHECK
- Max. difference M1 to M2: 30 RPM CHECK
- Ingnition switch M1+M2, 2200 RPM CHECK
- Throttle 1200-1500 RPM
- Parking brake RELEASE
BEFORE TAKEOFF
- Brakes HOLD
- Wing flap lever 15°
- Elevator trim SET (neutral recommended)
- Auxiliary fuel pump ON, CKECK GREEN
LIGHT
- Takeoff clearance RECEIVE
NORMAL TAKEOFF
- Brakes APPLY
- Throttle SMOOTHLY FULL POWER
- Control stick EASE FORWARD
- Brakes RELEASE
- Check Manifold Pressure MIN 0.95 ATA
- Check RPM advancing beyond 3300 RPM
- Limit engine speed to 3400 RPM by
REDUCING PROP CONTROL LEVER
- At 60-70 KIAS pull back Control stick.
- Climb with 75-85 KIAS.
SHORT FIELD TAKEOFF
- Brakes APPLY
- Throttle SMOOTHLY FULL POWER
- Control stick EASE FORWARD
- Brakes RELEASE
- Check Manifold Pressure MIN 0.95 ATA
- Check RPM advancing beyond 3300 RPM
- Limit engine speed to 3400 RPM by
REDUCING PROP CONTROL LEVER
- At 40-50 KIAS simulaneously pull back
control stick and wing flaplever to 35°.
- After obstacle clearance and with safe
climbing speed RETRACT FLAPS TO 15°.
- Proceed as normal takeoff.
CLIMB
After save altitude and safe climbing speed
is reached:
- Propeller control lever REDUCE TO 3000
RPM
- Wing flap lever RETRACT 0° (min. 200 ft
AGL, 70 KIAS)
- Elevator trim AS REQUIRED
- Auxiliary fuel pump OFF
- Manifold Pressure - SET 0.90 ATA
CRUISE
- Propeller control lever REDUCE TO
2600-2700 RPM
- Manifold Pressure SET TO 0.55 - 0.80 ATA
- Elevator trim for level flight AS
REQUIRED
DESCENT
- Propeller control lever SET TO 2500 RPM
- Manifold Pressure SET TO 0.50 ATA
- Airspeed 130 KIAS
- Elevator trim for descent AS REQUIRED
BEFORE LANDING
Entry and
Downwind Leg
- Propeller control lever SET TO 3000 RPM
- Airspeed 100 KIAS
- Auxiliary fuel pump ON, CKECK GREEN
LIGHT
- Parking brake CHECK OFF
Key Point
- Throttle IDLE
- Airspeed 75 KIAS
- Wing flap lever SET 15°
- Elevator trim AS REQUIRED
Final
- Airspeed 70 KIAS
- Wing flap lever SET 35° (or as
required)
- Elevator trim AS REQUIRED

LANDING
Normal
Landing
- Flare out and touch down in three-point
attitude with touchdown speed 40-45 KIAS.
- Hold control stick back and apply brakes
as necessary.
Short Fileld
Landing
- Airspeed 70 KIAS
- Wing flap lever SET 15° (or as
required)
- Airspeed 60 KIAS
- Wing flap lever SET 35°
- Elevator trim AS REQUIRED
- Wing flap lever SET 35°
- When landing is assured, wing flap lever
SET 45°
- Elevator trim 5 DOTS BACKWARDS (nose
high)
- Press control stick forward to maintain Airspeed

- By approaching the touch down point apply
power to control/limit sinkrate.
- Touch down airspeed 35-40 KIAS
AFTER LANDING
