Welcome!
This is the readme file for the FSAG Ai installer. It will show you detailed instructions on how to install and get the most out of this package!
Contents:
I have a computer which is running on Windows XP, which comes with a built in unpacker, so i don't need winzip as such. I will be adding a WinZip section to this readme very soon.
Basically all you need to do if you are on Windows XP is once the file is downloaded, (in this case its is A322ADR.zip) is find the file. I recommend that you download straight to your desktop to ease this process.
First of all, double click the .zip file to open it. Inside the file are some files. The .jpg files are unimportant. They are simply display pictures for the website you downloaded the .zip file from. The readme file is important. (Obviously, as it contains instructions, and you are reading it now!) However, if you know what you are doing the only file you REALLY need is the .exe file. This file is the installer and it will install everything to your hard disk.
Well, lets get started shall we? On the left of the window there is a pane which says "Folder Tasks" and underneath that, it says "extract all files". Double click the extract all files writing.
The box above will appear. To continue with the extraction process, all you do is click Next.
The dialogue moves to this window, where you can specify the location to unzip the files to. By default, the location is the same as where the zip file is, and with the same name. I suggest that you leave it as this, but feel free to change the location. (After all it is your computer!) Don't worry about the button that says Password. I do not put a password on my .zip files. Once you are sure that the directory is ok, click next.
If the extraction was succesful, then this box will show. Click finish to err.. finish!
The folder that you extracted the files to will automatically appear! Double click on A322ADR.EXE to continue. The installer will first detect your system hardware configuration to assure compatibility. This will only take a few seconds. Then there is a short intro. After that, the box below will show up.
This is just a notice to tell you what you are installing. Click yes to continue.
Read the license carefully. It isn't long and its very simple and it contains some install instructions. Then click I Agree to continue or cancel to quit the install.
The next dialogue lets you select what you want to install. Uncheck or check boxes to suit your needs. E.G. If you want to use your own flightplans for the Aircraft included uncheck Flightplans. Hover the mouse over the selections for descriptions of what they are. Once you have decided what to install, click next.
This is where you specify the location of your Flight simulator Main folder. Please do not change this as it may cause problems with the installer. This issue will be addressed at a later stage. Underneath the destination folder section is a small display that tells you how much hard disk space is required for this installation, and how much hard disk space you have left. Click on install to install!
Before installing, the installer program will check compatibility with your system, then check disk space, and then check the integrity of your hard disk. Once all this is done the install will continue.
You can view details of the install process once it is completed. If you don't want to, just click close. After that, you can delete the folder A322ADR and the .zip file A322ADR.zip from your desktop.
Even after the install, there is still one thing to do. This is due to the fact that I cannot find a way to run and compile ttools straight from the installer. Anyway here is what you have to do:
IMPORTANT! IF YOU DON'T DO THIS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE AI TRAFFIC IN FS2004!
First of all navigate to your FS folder.
Go into the folder FSAG, which is where files were installed to.
Ignore all the other icons and folders for now. They will be explained later on. For now just go into the ttools folder.
Start the program TTOOLS.exe by double clicking it. It looks something like this:
Once it has started you will see a list of available flightplans underneath the column source files. The flightplans will always be named after the package, so this packages source files will have ADR322 in the name. Click on any file that has ADR322 in the name.
Once you click on 1, all three will automatically be highlighted. All you have to do then is click compile.
Once this process is complete the screen will look like this. Now you can close TTools and start FS. Once you start FS it will recognise the new files and automatically update itself. You will then be able to see the aircraft. The auto-installer is being worked on so that you don't have to do this every time.
In the FSAG folder in you FS folder lies the uninstall program. Navigate to this folder and the click the relative uninstaller e.g. UninstallADR322.exe.
Just click Uninstall to uninstall the program. Please note that if you do this while fs is running then it will have no effect. You need to close fs before you run the uninstaller.
Thankyou!!!!!!
