Todays training simulation is the ILS Approach and Landing on RW03 at NZDN. When the mission starts you'll be tracking South on the Inbound 183 Radial to the SWAMPY VOR. This is the end of the Standard Route from Christchuch to Dunedin. You are currently 80nm north of SWAMPY at FL280 travelling at 250 knots. Your callsign is KA-018 (KILO ALFA 018)
You have been cleared to descend to 6000 feet by the SWAMPY VOR at your descretion. Plan your own descent path but it would be best to start down before you hear the NZDN ATIS on Comm 2. Expect further clearance from your Examiner for the ILS as you descend.
This is an Expert level training simulation. Only the necessary has been programmed in order to maintain straight and level flight on the 183 Radial at FL280 when the mission begins. To land safely and pass you will have to have a good understanding of the ILS Approach and manage all aircraft systems yourself. No help is given In-Flight. A Checklist is available through our Forum at www.flightsim.co.nz in the Mission Section
This Checkride is split into 2 parts. If you have performed the Approach and Landed to a satisfactory level, then taxi to the Apron for your results
