(Rare) Volga Dnepr Antonov An-124 Landing | Planespotting Chicago O’Hare International AirportFilmed an Ilyushin Il-76 and an Antonov An-124 Ruslan on back-to-back days here at Chicago O’Hare International Airport… this video I have uploaded here is something I have hoped for for many years.

While at work early today in the wee hours of the morning, I had watched the illusive Il-76 that I filmed yesterday as it departed under cover of darkness from runway 28C. So unfortunately I didn’t get a departure video. Hey! At least I still got to see it depart albeit at night… But now this! The Era of Wildcard just keeps getting sweeter from the planespotting perspective. A pretty cool 48 hours if you ask me.

I have seen them both on a very rare occasion over the years here in the Chicago area but had never been able to get a good quality video of them here at ORD. Either I was busy or was away doing something else that had to be done at the time of arrival or departure. Scored them both! Until next time. For the true avgeek’s enjoyment of aviation is never really satisfied except for in the moment. The thrill of the planespotting game, the chase goes on.
