Sunwing Airlines Storage of Thirteen Boeing 737-800’s | Waterloo Int’l

Sunwing Airlines Storage of Thirteen Boeing 737-800’s | Waterloo Int’lHello everyone! Welcome to this video!

As a result of COVID-19, the aviation industry has taken a massive hit for the worst and many flights have become temporarily cancelled or suspended which now leaves workers in the industry either finding themselves working reduced hours or temporarily laid off. Several airlines have begun storing their aircraft at their respective airports while they wait for the situation to get better. Sunwing Airlines has announced that effective 17MAR20, all southbound flights will be suspended until April 9th with repatriation flights still being offered to bring Canadians back to Canada. Those flights finished up roughly around 21MAR20 where we got word that many of their aircraft will be stored in at the Region of Waterloo Int’l on RWY 14/32.

Sunday and Monday yielded the majority of the movements as I was able to catch four flights coming in from Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Quebec City to add to the total tally of thirteen aircraft parked; a sight never before seen at Waterloo. A sad sight nevertheless to see and I hope this all passes sooner or later to get these aircraft back up in the air. All the best to my
fellow friends and subscribers at Sunwing Airlines! Enjoy the video and stay safe!

Cheers,
Ernest G.
