RARE: Lufthansa Airbus A340-600 Landing RWY 33L + Taxi @ Toronto Pearson Int’l May 15, 2016Hello everyone! Today, I headed out to catch another rare. Last night, we found out on FR24, that Sunday’s Lufthansa 494 flight will be operated by an Airbus A340-600, instead of the usual Airbus A330-300. This was pretty good news, since we haven’t got an Airbus A340-600 since October 2014, in fact, it happened two times in 2014. So it’s been two years.

I headed out to RWY 33L left where he was assigned to land and I caught it land. An interesting touchdown, big time. And then I went to the other side to catch the taxi. I knew the taxi would be backlit, but it was a once and only chance to get close to an Airbus A340-600 so I took it. I even got a flight crew wave as well. Awesome! Thanks Lufthansa! Was good to see the -600 again, since it reminds me of the times I was starting out as a plane spotter. Enjoy the video everyone and I’ll catch you in the next one!
