Farewell: KF Aerospace’s McDonnell Douglas DC-10F’s @ Toronto Pearson Int’l March 18, 2016Hello everyone! Man, am I happy I decided to go out spotting today! Because as soon as I got to Toronto, I got word from a few that KF Aerospace’s McDonnell Douglas DC-10F’s would be flying back to Hamilton and that would mean it would be the end of the line for them. Makes sense because while spotting a few days ago, someone brought up the topic of KF Aerospace and another spotter responded with saying he had seen a post from the YVR Spotters Facebook group that all of the flight crew were laid off last week. And boom, today it happened. The two McDonnell Douglas DC-10F’s were towed from the FedEx Cargo to the Cargo West and then filed for a departure for Hamilton. Even though this is the end of the line for the two tri-holers, it most likely won’t be the end for KF Aerospace since they are still doing well out west with a few other aircraft for theirs and are associated with other aviation fields as well.

To conclude this off, farewell to these two awesome tri-holers, C-GKFD and C-GKFT, both whom are 41.2 and 40.7 years old respectively. These are most likely the final flights for them out of here to Hamilton and it might be the last time Toronto ever sees the original McDonnell Douglas DC-10F’s ever. So Farewell! 😀 From all of us YYZ Spotters to you, it was an absolute treat and a blast from the past!
