FSX – Fairey Swordfish W5984. A repaint for the freeware Flying Stations Fairey Swordfish for Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration. W5984 was a Blackurn-built Swordfish 1 of 825 Naval Air Squadron.This aircraft,flown by Lt.Cdr Eugene Esmonde and crew, was one of six Swordfish that took off from RAF Manston on 12th February 1942 to attack the German Battleships Scharnhorst, Gniesenau and Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen during the infamous ‘Channel Dash’. All six aircraft were lost. Lt.Cdr Esmonde was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross.
