JAT 737-300 – Landing & Takeoff – Skiathos

It was only when I got back home when I discovered what piece of aviation history I had filmed. JAT is now gone.
Jat Airways was the first airline to operate the Boeing 737 Classic in Europe. Their first 737-300 arrived mid-summer in 1985, registered as YU-AND.

Their first 737s were painted in metallic silver with red, white and blue stripes along the body forming the flag of Yugoslavia. During their operation they changed colours twice, but after Etihad took Jat Airways over and re-branded it to Air Serbia, B733s are blanked and the last B733 commercial flight is scheduled for March 31 to Podgorica. Starting from April 1, Air Serbia will operate only European aircraft: Airbus and ATR. However, B733s won’t be scrapped, as they will operate charters this Summer. Jat had operated more than 10 B733s and had leased two from Air Bulgaria. Jat had also operated leased B734s from which one had a fatal crash operating for Adam Air.
