Volga-Dnepr Airlines wins Russian government award for high social efficiency
Volga-Dnepr Airlines has won a silver prize in the Russian Organisation of High Social Efficiency federal contest for supporting the health and wellbeing of its employees.
The airline was recognised in the award category entitled ‘Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle In Production Sphere Organizations’. “The health of our staff is strategically important to us. Our team of professionals represents the company’s most important resource and without them we would not be able to carry out the company’s mission and continue to grow and develop.
Good health is normal for Volga-Dnepr’s employees as we offer a comprehensive system that supports staff in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We have a polyclinic of restorative treatment, a sport and fitness infrastructure and an annual appraisal of employees’ physical training. The aviation industry demands that its participants consistently demonstrate a very high level of concentration as well as intellectual and physical attention and that’s why a healthy lifestyle for us is a real necessity,” said Vladimir Yakovlev, Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ Vice President, Human Resources.
The contest is an initiative by Russia’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. More than 40 businesses participated in the competition and the awards ceremony to celebrate the winners took place in the Russian White House in Moscow.
“Taking care of employees and understanding and anticipating social issues helps Russian companies to achieve profitability and successfully resist crisis situations in the economic sphere,” said Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
