Aeromexico, SR Technics and Sanad sign 10 year Integrated Component Services (ICS) agreements for Boeing 787 Dreamliner

aviation_newsSR Technics, part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, and Aeromexico, Mexico’s global airline, have signed a 10-year ICS contract, covering the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet of 19 aircraft.

Under the agreement, SR Technics will provide comprehensive entry into service and ramp-up support, repair cycle management, engineering services, global pool access and the establishment of an inventory pool in Miami, USA.

All maintenance services will make use of the enhanced Boeing 787 data management. An integral part of this cornerstone contract is the tailor-made financing service provided by Sanad Aero Solutions (Sanad), Mubadala Aerospace’s spare engine and component financing and leasing company.

The contract with Aeromexico will draw from SR Technics’ and Sanad’s global capability and will utilize the companies’ expertise and inventory pools in Zurich, Miami, Abu Dhabi and London.

These capabilities include a full suite of MRO services, inventory management, engineering services and tailor-made financing solutions. This agreement combines a full range of aero solutions along the component lifecycle.

While it is the first Integrated Component Services contract with Aeromexico for SR Technics, the two companies have already been collaborating successfully for more than 20 years on the airline’s PW4000 engines, and can therefore draw on strong and long-standing relationships at all levels. This expansion into future aircraft platforms reinforces SR Technics’ strong positioning worldwide, confirming its competitiveness as a long-standing global market player with proven efficiency, lowest turnaround times, world-class capabilities, highest quality and reliable and on-time delivery.

With this agreement, SR Technics and Sanad enter the Boeing 787 MRO market arena with a strong flagship carrier, while at the same time expanding their ICS offering to the Americas, a strategically important market to the MRO network’s global expansion strategy.

Andrés Conesa, Grupo Aeromexico CEO, says: “This agreement with a world-class MRO provider will allow Aeromexico to have the highest quality standards for the repair of components with a high availability of spare parts for all Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in operation. It will surely generate a more efficient use of resources, having a positive and significant financial and operational effect for our airline, as well as for our safety standards. Aeromexico´s fleet will have a suitable support partner with SR Technics to achieve our goals for the next decade.”

James Stewart, Group CEO of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, comments: “We are delighted to build on our successful cooperation with Aeromexico and to continue our long-standing partnership to support their future growth. This cornerstone deal is an exciting opportunity for SR Technics and the MRO network to prove our excellent level of customer service for the first of the next generation aircraft platforms, the Boeing 787. We continue our global growth based on our superior quality of service offerings, uncompromising safety standards, deep expertise and a globally competitive portfolio. We see ourselves as an integration partner to the airlines, both technically and commercially. Thanks to our independent value proposition and our proven MRO solutions, we are strongly positioned for the next generation aircraft.”

Troy Lambeth, CEO of Sanad, adds: “Our team has made significant investments into this new and comprehensive ICS platform and we are delighted to see it validated through this cornerstone contract. In partnership with SR Technics, Sanad is very pleased to further our relationship with Aeromexico through this program and we look forward to expanding our Boeing 787 ICS platform to other customers in the market.”
