Krasnodar region medical aviation huge start

f0be30f368fac04d5ff21affdb3e1e8dMedevac helicopter Eurocopter EC-135 has recently made its first flight. The aircraft was purchased by Krasnodar region administration and set forth to contribute to development and improvement of medical aviation in the region. The helicopter, which is equipped with modern medical equipment such as artificial respirators and heart monitoring units, was given to PANH Helicopters for operation in the beginning of 2013.

The first flight day turned out to be quite an intensive one due to multiple inquires for evacuation of injured from all over the Krasnodar region.

Morning flight – destination Sochi. A man in critical condition after a car accident received his first aid on the spot and then sent to Ochaposkiy Krasnodar Hospital. Air transportation took around 2 hours in comparison with 7-8 hours by car.

Medical personnel met a helicopter at the new rooftop helipad of the hospital. Rooftop landing is a flight operation of high difficulty, that’s why the first flight was accomplished by an experienced test-pilot, first deputy director general of PANH Helicopters, Alexey Skorikov.

In couple of hours the helicopter reached the hospital rooftop again with a new patient from Yeysk, then departed to Slavyanskiy district. “That’s a huge event! A huge one!” – exclaimed Vladimir Porkhanov, Chief Doctor of Ochaposkiy Krasnodar Hospital.
