LEE COUNTY PORT AUTHORITY DIRECTOR ELECTED PRESIDENT OF FLORIDA AIRPORTS COUNCIL

 Debra A. Lemke, director of government affairs and grants for the Lee County Port Authority (LCPA), has been elected president of the Florida Airport Council (FAC) at the Annual FAC Conference held in Naples, Fla. Lemke will direct the activities of the association and preside over all business and special meetings.



Lemke joined LCPA in 1985. She has worked in the government affairs department since 1994 and was promoted to director in 2004. In her role, Lemke is responsible for coordination with all government agencies and state and federal legislative delegations. She works to secure state and federal funding for capital improvement projects at Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field as well as oversees the LCPA Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program.



Lemke has been a member of the Florida Airports Council since 1993. She has served on the FAC Board of Directors as vice president and secretary/treasurer since 2010. In addition, she has served as chair of both the FAC Federal Affairs Committee and State Affairs Committee. Lemke is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives and a member of the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives. She attended Edison Community College and Barry University.




The Florida Airports Council is an association of publicly owned and operated airports, airport professionals and experts in the fields of airport design, development and improvement, as well as aviation trades that support the airport industry in Florida. FAC fosters public recognition of the airport industry, advocates for development, improvement and enhancement of airports and aviation in the state of Florida.
