COMSOFT secures contract for AMHS link from Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority, CAAB

COMSOFT has been awarded a contract to deliver and install an Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS) solution for the global Aeronautical Telecommunications Network (ATN) for the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB).

Bangladesh like other Asian nations is enjoying a boom in air travel and in order to manage the growing air traffic volumes is looking to upgrade its air traffic control (ATC) systems, and bring them into line with the latest technological standards. The Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS) is the most advanced and reliable technology for sending and delivering aeronautical messages in various formats at high speeds and in large volumes. COMSOFT has already established itself as the global market leader in ATN/AMHS and now boasts 15 on ICAO’s ComChart, by far the largest of any provider.

This was a crucial factor in the CAAB decision to select COMSOFT’s bid and when completed, will place Bangladesh among the most technologically advanced and sophisticated Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP) in the region. Group Captain M Shafiqul Alam, ndc, fawc, psc, Member Operations and Planning, CAAB, commenting on the award of the contract, stated: “We were impressed with COMSOFT’s successful track record and excellent references from satisfied customers of delivering and installing its AMHS system at international airports around the world. We look forward to working with COMSOFT and bringing Bangladesh’s air traffic and information management systems into line with the highest technological standards.”
