Piedmont Airlines Fleet and Passenger Service Employees Ratify Contract Between the Airline and Communications Workers of America
Fleet and passenger service employees at Piedmont Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US Airways (NYSE: LCC), have voted to ratify the new collective bargaining agreement previously announced on May 31. The new four and a half year agreement was ratified by Piedmont Airlines’ more than 3,000 employees who are represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA). Details of the agreement will be made available by the CWA.
Piedmont Airlines President and CEO Steve Farrow said, “We are extremely pleased that the fleet and passenger service employees have voted to ratify the new collective bargaining agreement, the first agreement for this workgroup. I would like to thank the CWA leadership for their diligent efforts in representing our exceptional employees. I would also like to thank the National Mediation Board and the mediator overseeing our negotiations, Michael Kelliher, for their instrumental role in assisting both parties to reach this agreement.”
