Iberia is the world’s first network airline to use this modern system to tell its customers about the services it offers in the airport. With this innovation, the Spanish airline takes a major step forward to the forefront of the industry in the use of the most advanced audiovisual tools. Iberia’s “virtual agents” also strengthen the modern avant-garde image of T4 in Madrid-Barajas airport, and it is in line with similar initiatives in the airports of Frankfurt and Dubai.
The “agents” are audiovisual projections displayed facing Iberia’s check-in counters 810 and 811 at T4. A man and a woman wearing Iberia uniforms capture the public’s attention and inform, among other things, of the functions and advantages of using the automatic check-in kiosks and the express luggage check-in counters.
A total of more than 200 messages will be given in this manner, with practical information about luggage, access to security control, boarding procedures, and the numerous products and services offered by the airline: VIP lounges, the Iberia Plus programme, fast-track service, etc.
This initiative is part of Iberia’s Ágora project, a major strategic plan with the triple aim of increasing efficiency at its Madrid-Barajas airport hub, boosting punctuality, and improving customers’ travel experience.
More than 50% of Iberia passengers check in for their flights via the www.iberia.com website or at airport kiosks, and the company is strengthening this service to be more efficient and to facilitate the issuing of boarding cards and luggage tags to customers, cutting waiting times and streamlining all procedures. In addition, the airline has dedicated two check-in stations (818 and 811) to express luggage check-in, freeing passengers of the obligation to check in their luggage at traditional check-in counters.
