Ice cream treats and lots more on board airberlin flights

From May 2012, airberlin customers will be able to experience the ultimate in pleasure on their journey high above the clouds. On selected routes airberlin will offer exclusive premium ice cream made by Sansibar.

The ice cream is served in a 120 ml goblet, just as it is at the “Sansibar” restaurant on the German island of Sylt, and comes in a choice of “Bourbon Vanilla” or “Belgian Chocolate” flavours. The ice cream, which is produced exclusively from fresh milk, best quality cream and the finest ingredients, meets our customers‘ demands for a product of a superior quality.

As a special treat, every customer who orders an airberlin gourmet meal on a flight from Germany to Palma de Mallorca, or vice versa, between 3rd and 31st May 2012 will also receive a complimentary Sansibar ice cream.

Another new feature from June: the typical airberlin chocolates, which are given to passengers as they board their flight, will now be filled with Ahoj sherbet powder in woodruff, raspberry, lemon and orange flavours. In the near future, our onboard shop will also stock a special edition of the popular Ahoj sweets in their distinctive airberlin design.

On airberlin flights there are also local products on offer. The airline regularly serves the well-known biscuits called “Apfel-Groschen” (apple pennies) as a sweet snack. These biscuits, produced by the Lichtenhain bakery, originally come from the Uckermark region of Germany.
