airberlin BER campaign

airberlin is embarking on the critical period leading up to the opening of the new Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport (BER) with an extensive advertising campaign. airberlin is the leading carrier in Berlin, transporting a total of 7.9 million passengers last year, and even incorporates the capital city in its name. One of airberlin’s long-haul Airbus A330-200 aircraft is flying around the world carrying the message “BER Berlin Brandenburg Airport – Europe’s most modern airport” and airberlin thus actively represents its new home base, where the company hopes to further expand in the future.

The campaign, which has been developed by the Dusseldorf agency RAPP, includes outdoor, print, online and radio advertising. “We transport one third of all the air passengers in Berlin and are therefore the leading carrier in the city. We would like to thank the citizens of Berlin for their loyalty and to sweeten the wait until we move to the new airport,” explains Paul Gregorowitsch, Chief Commercial Officer airberlin. In Berlin during May there will be promoters dressed in airberlin cabin crew uniform in the most frequented public places distributing airberlin’s popular chocolate hearts, made by Rausch, and a postcard with a catchy slogan. Customers of Dunkin Donuts branches in Berlin can also expect a sweet surprise: all 12-piece donut boxes decorated in airberlin red with the slogan “I fly with airberlin, I like things a bit bigger.”

In the last week of May, the N24 TV channel weather forecaster, Miriam Pede, will present the weather forecast from popular places in Berlin and make viewers from all over the country feel like visiting the capital or other airberlin destinations.
