EGYPTAIR and Air Canada Code Share

In line with the continuous efforts to provide a better link to Canada, EGYPTAIR has concluded a Free Sale Code Share Agreement with Air Canada. This agreement comes in line with EGYPTAIR’s strategy of adding new strong links to North America via its service in Europe. EGYPTAIR grasped the importance of Canada as an important travel and business destination, as well; Air Canada, the flag carrier of Canada, the largest carrier in its homeland and a Star Alliance member, looks to Egypt as a premium travel destination for its customers. From this view, both carriers signed their enhanced code-share agreement to add a new link between Africa and Canada.

“Expanding our network in the North American continent through signing more code share agreements, inaugurating new routes and increasing frequencies comes within EGYPTAIR strategy of expansion,” said Capt Hossam Kamal, EGYPTAIR Holding CHAIRMAN and CEO.
Kamal added that EGYPTAIR strategy aims at encouraging tourism coming from the North American continent to Egypt, being the gateway to the Middle East and Africa.
Meanwhile, Capt. Ayman Nasr, EGYPTAIR Airlines CHAIRMAN and CEO said: “Such agreement will offer more options to EGYPTAIR customers to travel to Canada with seamless connection through European hubs”
He added that the agreement will be effective from 29th March 2012. EGYPTAIR will put its code on Air Canada’s flights between Cairo – Toronto via London, and between Cairo – Montreal via London.
On the other hand, Air Canada will put its code on EGYPTAIR’s flights between Toronto – Cairo via London and Frankfurt, and Montreal – Cairo via London and Frankfurt.
As being Star Alliance members, both carriers Frequent Flyer customers will be able to accrue and redeem miles on the code share flights.
