Kenya Airways appoints a new Ground Sales Agent (GSA)

  Kenya Airways has appointed a new agent for the Japanese market as it explores a direct air link between Kenya and Japan. 



Sunworld Air Services Corp will be the Ground Sales Agent for the national carrier in the Far East nation starting 1st February. The ultimate goal is to establish direct air link between Tokyo and Nairobi. 




Kenya’s ambassador to Japan Benson Ogutu hailed the move saying it would strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. “We welcome the decision by Kenya Airways to open a sales office in Tokyo as this will boost trade relations between Kenya and Japan,” said Ambassador Ogutu. 



He spoke when he visited the Sunworld offices in Shibuya, one of the twenty three wards in the Japanese capital. During the visit, he held discussions with senior management and also acquainted himself with Sunworld’s marketing strategies and operations. 



Japan is one of Kenya’s biggest trading partners and a key market for coffee, tea and horticulture produced locally. Kenya imports motor vehicles, electronics and machinery from Japan. 



Kenya Airways is a leading airline in Africa thanks to its wide network and connectivity. Being a member of the of SkyTeam Alliance, Kenya Airways’ passengers have an access to the member airlines’ worldwide network and passenger facilities in 926 destinations in 173 countries. 



The airline’s destinations in Asia include Bangkok, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Mumbai.
