Normal operations have resumed at Belfast International Airport after a precautionary emergency landing by a Thomas Cook aircraft this morning

Uel Hoey, BIA Business Development Director said: ” The aircraft with 175 on board turned back after developing technical problems. All emergency services were on standby and the aircraft landed without incident.

” Passengers have disembarked the aircraft and are awaiting the arrival of a replacement aircraft to take them to Tenerife.

“We are delighted our response was professional and reflects the airport’s commitment to passenger safety. Our emergency procedures are continually assessed and we give our emergency preparations the highest priority”.
