Pictures – F-4 Phantom Firmation

 

 

Pictures - This formation of F-4 Phantom II fighter aircraft, sporting a Vietnam Era paint scheme, fly in formation during a heritage flight demonstration over Northwest Florida.  The Heritage Flight program was established in 1997 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the U. S. Air Force and involves fighter aircraft from World War II to recent all flying in formatoin to both celebrate and demonstrate the evolution of Air Force Air Power.  These F-4’s, now commonly referred to as the QF-4 Rhino, are assigned to the 82nd Aerial Target’s Squadron located at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.  They provide aerial target support for both air-to-air and surface-to-air missile evaluation and test missions as well as partake in the Air Force Heritage program that provides support at various air shows around the United States in support of both recruiting and retention efforts.  F-4 Phantom II pilots are, Lieutenant Colonel Jerry Kerby, Captain Chris Vance, Mr. Sal Bonacasa and Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Murphy.
