Gulf Air appoints Marco Fontana as Country Manager for Italy

 Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has appointed Marco Fontana as its new Country Manager for Italy. 








“The recent opening of flights to Bahrain from Milan and Rome represent our strategic choice to invest on Italy and Marco Fontana, with his long experience in the tourism industry and airline in particular, is the right person to compete in the Italian market” said Mr. Karim Makhlouf, Gulf Air’s Chief Commercial Officer. 







With more than 20 years’ experience in the tourism industry, Marco Fontana is joining Gulf Air from Air Berlin, where as Country Manager he developed the Italian market of the second German airline. 







In addition, in his career Marco Fontana covered several management roles in travel agencies, tour operators, business travel and airlines, among which were Thomas Cook, US Airways, Lufthansa Airplus International and Sky Europe, and received a high number of professional qualifications including airline marketing, sales and communication.
