– FS2004 Scenery–Naval Air Station Hitchcock

FS2004 Scenery–Naval Air Station Hitchcock, Texas. This is the second in the series of blimp stations in the pre- and post World War II era. Hitchcock was actually the last and most short-lived of the blimp stations. Erected to cover the Galveston TX area of the Gulf Coast it was something of a reaction to the unexpected shipping losses in the Caribbean that accompanied America’s entry into the war. And although there were no submarine sinkings from this base it nevertheless served as an important part in America’s defences as well as a valuable training base. Requires the prior installation of my NAS Weeksville scenery (KWKS_J2.ZIP) for proper operation. By John Stinstrom.
