This one wears the imaginary livery of “Air Expendable,” the shadowy employer of Terry Lee and his cohorts in Milton Caniff’s comic strip “Terry & The Pirates.” Caniff based Terry’s post-war exploits on the real-life organization and personnel of Air America.
